Dance Full Out: Why It Matters (Yes, Even In Class!)

You’ve probably heard your teachers say it a million times:
"Dance full out!"
But what does that even mean?
What Does "FULL OUT" Really Mean? It means using your whole body, your face, and your energy to tell a story. It’s committing to the choreography like it means something. When you dance full out, your movements are powerful, your intention is clear, and your performance becomes unforgettable.
~ It's not just about moving big - it's about dancing like it means something. ~
⚡ ENERGY 🙌 INTENT 😜 FACIAL EXPRESSION 💪 COMMITMENT Why Marking It in Class Won't Cut it On Stage:
Now here’s the truth:
If you don’t practice dancing full out in class, it’s not magically going to happen on stage.
Think about it like this: You wouldn’t whisper your lines during rehearsal and expect to shout them on stage. Dancing is the same. If you’re marking (aka going half-speed or low-energy) all the time in rehearsal, your muscles and brain get used to that level of effort. Then, when it’s showtime, your body won’t know how to turn on that full-performance mode. Here’s what dancing full out looks like in class:
You hit every move with energy and intention.
You use your face and performance skills like there’s an audience watching—even if it’s just the mirror.
You push through the tough stuff—yes, even when you're tired.
You take risks. You go for the jump, the turn, the expression—even if it's not perfect yet.

The Stage is Bigger Than You Think!
Why is this so important on stage? Because the stage is BIG. The lights are bright. The audience is far away. Everything you do has to be bigger than you think. If you’re only giving 60% in class, you’ll barely show up at 80% on stage—and that’s not enough for the audience to feel your performance.
~ If you don't train full out in class, your performance won't be full out on stage.~

Tips to Start Dancing Full Out NOW!
Treat every run-through like a mini performance.
Use your face - even if it feels silly at first.
Don't mark unless your teacher asks you to.
Practice with purpose. Ask yourself: “Would I be proud if someone saw this run?”
Remember that every class is training your brain and body to perform the way you want to be remembered.
Dancing full out doesn't mean being perfect. You just have to be present, committed, and willing to give it everything. When you show up fully, the audience connects with you. So give it your all. We're watching. We believe in you!
~ Because when you dance full out, you’re not just doing the steps—you’re creating a moment. And that’s what people remember! ~
