Opportunities
Creative Motion School of Dance has always strived to give the dancers opportunities to learn and grow inside and outside the studio. From community performances at nursing homes, in local parades, and local festivals (Sacred Heart Fall Festival, Fermentation Fest, Living Windows), to participating in Relay for Life and hosting a food drive for the local food pantry, to attending workshops and conventions, to traveling to New York, Orlando and Chicago to perform, we have something fun and exciting for our dancers to participate in year after year.
Walt Disney World - 2016 & 2019
Creative Motion Dance has traveled to Walt Disney World to both participate in a stage performance at Disney Springs and in an educational workshop with Disney performers/choreographers.
Highlights of our 2016 trip were VIP character breakfast at Hollywood students with early access to ride Rocking Rollercoaster before the park even opened for the day, and a private pizza party and exclusive access to Typhon Lagoon after hours!
The biggest highlight of our 2019 trip was a surprise visit from Goofy during our workshop! We had the change to perform with him and then have a private photo opportunity afterwards.
New York City - 2005, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2018
In 2005, Miss Kari and Creative Motion Dance were invited by Mike Miller Productions to perform in the Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The experience was so magical that we continued to participate in the parade three more times.
While in NYC dancers had the opportunity to take in Broadway Shows and visit some amazing historical sites. Between rehearsals for the parade and various tours and shows, dancers had time to tour the city at their leisure and learned how to use the subway system.
In 2018, we decided to give NYC a try during the summer time! We saw multiple Broadway Shows, visited historical sites, and instead of performing in the parade, dancers instead took a class with Broadway Performers, a private class at Broadway Dance Center, and then a workshop with a local choreographer to learn a Flash Mob which they performed on Times Square!
Community Involvement - EVERY CHANCE WE GET!
Since Creative Motion Dance opened its doors in the summer of 2002, we have been taking every opportunity we can get to be involved in the community. From our yearly participation in the Butterfest Parade and Living Windows, to other performance opportunities at Sacred Heart Fall Festival, Who-Zha-Wa Parade, Spring Green Light Parade, Fermentation Fest, Thrill the World & Grateful Shed, Sauk County Fair, Six Flags - Great America and more! We are always looking for chances for our dancers to get out into the community to not only gain additional performance experience, but to also give back to the community through sharing their talents!
